Yes i'm dying to know how quickly it can accelerate whilst towing a burning caravan.

As stupid as the Top Gear tests are they always seem to apply the same logic that I do. I'm quite interested to see their hot hatch group test. Money says Jezza will go for the gti, James for the ST and Hammond for something French - Renault probs.

The pics in the above thread show the new GTI vs the new ST.  They clock the 0-60 on the GTI at 5.6 seconds

If thats true then that is amazing. Tempted to dyno it once it arrives to see what it's really pushing out

Yep, me too!  I read somewhere else that the 230bhp was really 250bhp when tested.

They test them going down a hill? hehe

Do they not have to do a run in one direction, then turn around and repeat it in the reverse direction, then take an average of the two runs?  Otherwise wind and road slope wouldn't be accounted for.  I kinda doubt this could account for a whole missing second though!

I've no idea how it works, but if the car does sub 6 seconds 0-60 I'll take it any which way!
