I am thanks Mr GTD though will be sad to see the GTI go at the smae time.

Dealer offered the Autoglym Life Shine said it’s normally 300.00 but would give it to me for 250.00 plus you get a free Autoglym bag full of goodies. Said no as I use the same detailer twice a year, normally spring and just before the winter
The detailer has been trying out a ceramic sealant on his own car for the past year and is now happy to offer the service for new cars. He apple’s the coating as part of a new car preparation detail, which includes any residue and contamination being removed that may have occurred during transit, for a total cost of £250 This also includes alloys and interior and takes 8 hours. Can’t see the dealer working on the car for 8 hours.
The detailer is RGK Detailer and covers central Scotland and North England. The guy Richard is a perfectionist  , takes real pride in his work.

Not long now though! You'll be getting that tingle of excitement soon!

Most of those Autoglym products sold on Ebay are just cheap Chinese fakes.
Probably just contain soapy water.

The real kits look like this

Mk6 GTI 3dr | DSG | Tornado Red | 18" Monza 2 | LED Xenons | RNS510 | Bluetooth | Smoked LED tails | Cruise | Reversing Camera | TPMS | - now sold :(

Isn't that just a kit of the normal off the shelf stuff though?

From what I understand, that is the same stuff that you can buy from the shops. The call it the aftercare kit. The Lifeshine, is basically a sealant like Supaguard or Diamond Brite that is smeared on by the Polish valeters, or maybe not even applied at all judging by the amount of kits on ebay for £10.

The amount of people I know that have fallen for the sales trick. Rather than give them another £250 discount, the salesman will let them have Lifeshine or similar that is "worth" £400, for free.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Lifeshine can produce some amazing results if the car is prepared properly and the application is done correctly but 90% of the time it isn't and then customers wonder why it fails so quickly or think after three years that it is still going strong.

Ceramic sealants are the best and for the wax lovers you can still apply some of your favourite over the top although that does defeat the object slightly as it reduces its repellancy to dirt.

Excellent news,  mine is still in transit, but I see it now says yours is at the dealer

The wheel caps should be fine, I had ones fitted to a set of OZ alloys.
