I have to admit cyclists annoy me a little at the moment, the number I have nearly drove over who have cycled through a red light is unbelievable. Or that have no lights in the dark.  I even seen one the other day who got to a pedestrian crossing that was on red, jumped off walked through and got on the other side. Nuts. I will admit I am a keen cyclist and years ago was knocked off my bike at 50mph and have lived to tell the tale (helmet waring over 15 years ago).  It wasn't my fault or theirs really as it was on a brow of a hill and I was turning right. The car came over it and knocked me off.  But none the less I wait for the red lights to change to green before moving through. Thats the rule of the road. I think some of them have not even read the highway code.

We've just had an office move, so this means I now have to cycle or drive to work rather than walk (4 miles). 2 days after I started one of my friends was knocked of his bike by an idiot who wanted to get home quickly and "didn't see him" (didn't look, I reckon). £400 of knackered bike and a few bruises.

I am currently driving to work as a result as I HATE buses, and the road I would have to use is the same road. I will wait until it is lighter in the evenings.

Keeping schtum. Mostly.

Had my first cyclist vs motorist debate today! Live in the middle of Drayton road, Abingdon!

Chap decided that he didn't want to delay his journey by approx 5 seconds and tried to go through one of those bits where they have a traffic island in the middle of the road with me. Usually I'd be fine with it as that happens near daily, but had the trailer on today, with my little princess in the back.

Is shouted at him, he stopped, pretended he was going to get out, I put bike an trailer on path, put forward my intentions, and booted that f**king car as he tried to speed off.

He's got a nice dent in his rear qtr now

Never mess with a daddy an his princess! Or me if you happen to be driving through abingdon

Oh an before you think that's harsh it was because during the debate when I said 'be a bit careful my daughters in the trailer' his response was 'next time I'll aim for it'

I don't mind cyclists, I've learnt to live with them now I've had to dodge them every day for the last 3 years! What I don't like is that quite a few don't obey the rules of the road and go through red lights pushing pedestrians out the way.

on a side note, it looks like everyone is on the move! Nige, Chuff, Jord, a few of my mates, myself... onwards and upwards!

When cyclists stop breaking the law by riding on the footpath and going through red lights then I might have some sympathy.

Only might mind.
