Mk4 2.08v BAD Misfire - Advice Needed
« on: 15 July 2005, 13:09 »
I have a terrible misfire on my mk4.

Doesn't matter what speed you're doing, whether the engine is hot or cold etc.

You put your foot down and nothing happens, then after quite a while it catches up with itself, gradually gaining speed but still extremely lumpy (like it's going between 2 and 3 cylinders on and off). I was drivin to work this morning with my foot to the floor in 2nd and maxed out at 12mph!!!!!!!!

Already replaced the front lamba sensor and plugs.

Help!!

Any advice appreciated!

dont think temp sender would affect it that badly, although it is a common failure. i wouldn't buy any more parts for it until it's been on a diagnostics machine though.. could be a lot of things. injectors, throttle body and MAF all spring to mind.

MAF sounds like a fairly good suggestion also
