plasti-dipped the plastics
« on: 29 October 2012, 16:26 »
I've got the side strips done but its started to rain so might have to wait untill tomorrow to do the rest.

really good stuff! easy and simple to use. bit expensive at £10 a can but hey ho. here's an example. one on the left was sprayed:

if you want to liven up the grey plastics, door handles or any thing that's faded I'd highly recommend it!

let me know what you think. will show the finished results when its done. might need some more cans.

mega easy! spraying is a bit different. short light sweeps rather than long thick coats.

to prepare all you have to do is make sure the surface is mega clean or it'll go lumpy. you have to mask it off differently too as you have to peel off the unwanted bits.
there is a few video's on youtube on how to do it just have a look   make sure you know how to use it otherwise it'll go horrible wrong.
peeling off the stuff where you didnt want it is the only hard bit as it takes a lot of patience and if you dont get the coat thick enough it just wont peel and takes aaaages.

i'd highly recomend it! look how well it made my rear bumper turn out! do about 5 coats on what ever your doing so its thick enough.

its a bit expensive but worth it i think. £10 for 330ml can.

I just used a can and 1/4 to do my side trim, front and rear bumper trim.
just take off the side trim and the rear bumper and give the plastic trim a f**king good rub down with a cloth (hard back if you have one) soaked in water. to do the front bumper trim just take off the grill and mask up the sides and bottom bumper.
took about 15 minutes each coat to dry then takes 4 hours to set properly depending on weather.

have a look at this video it'll show you what to do:

this is the website to buy from:

have fun!
