Xbox with internet explorer is pretty nifty, but to use the online functions (except bbc iplayer) you will need a Live Gold account, at around £40 per year.

Also worth noting that the Xbox Lovefilm catalogue is seriously lacking much the the online content.

I hope the love film xbox interface is better than the web based interface! it sucks!

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

You could try opening up the console and cleaning the dust out, made a huge difference on my spare xbox. If not then whisper fans are cheap on ebay.

Very true, it's not like it's in warranty any more lol

If you get a replacement fan make sure its compatible with HDMI or non-HDMI consoles (whichever yours is) as they have a different number of pins i think. Aftermarket fans are usually backwards compatible.

I recently got a new Smart TV, LG 55 inch LED 3D it almost makes my Apple TV redundant as it is dlna capable & i connect using Plex to my Mac.

The only issue i have is watching films on the ATV i can turn them off then resume from where i left off next time i turn it on, not worked out how to do this yet with the Plex app. THe other issue i have is Plex doesn't see any films with 3D in the title so i have to use a different dlna programme called TV Mobile.

So for now the Apple TV will stay in use
