Dependant on driving conditions but from the 1k miles I have done so far in it. 350 seems to be the rough figure I have when filled up.

That's M27 driving and southampton driving in rush hour with some casual "opps hit boost" moments.

Thats Very very good, I didnt realise how good the mileage would be considdering its a 2 ltr lump, the best I have ever seen from my mk4 T is 338 till the light, bt I mostly do town driving tbh and don't get much opertunity to boost lol.

Again thanks alot for the help/info chaps, yet again helpful as always on this site :)

I'll pass this info on and im sure in the coming months a lovely mk5 GTI will be in his garage.

I tend to disagree as it depends on the box. I have recently had a change of heart and after selling my perfectly good mk5 manual Gti I now have an ED30 DSG. The ED30 so far is averaging 260-280 although very little motorway journeys, mainly urban. The manual GTI got me between 280-320 on the same runs. All dependent on the right foot.  In the manual running at 60mph on a motorway is the only way to get over 40mpg. I have once managed a full lap of the M60 getting my youngest to sleep at 55mph N got a massive 48mpg!!

The ED30 is nowhere near as good on the motorway but then again I didn't buy it for those reasons and the DSG is so much better at changing !!

The Mk5 GTI has a 12 gallon tank (55 litres), therefore 32mpg would give 384 miles to the tank.

I usually see about 24-28mpg as most of my trips are short urban and I like to have some fun. On longer trips I usually see early 30's.

So my average from a tank would be 288-336 miles.

Spot on. On a motorway trip recently driving at constant 70-75mph, I averaged 34mpg just over and returned about 415 miles from the tank.

Round the twisties I usually average about 22-3mpg and get about 260 miles a tank.
