Looked better with the arch covers unless your planning to colour code the bumper trims..

No colour coding planned as yet maybe next year.....I'm in the opinion if there is no rust under the plastics then they should be binned. And this is a solid Mk3 and deserves to show off its sexy bits

Looks decent like that bud. Nice winter mode car tho! Iv got a J reg 205 diesel for my winter duties haha!!

Just a little update on my VR. Had to sort out quite a few things in the the run up for her MOT.

Done a bit of welding. All of the rear grommet holes rotten. Probably wouldn't have failed for this but needed done all the same.

Had all the interior out of it so doubled up on the soundproofong and the foam behind the rear door cards (Have another VR im breaking) and has turned a noisy car into quite a pleasant quite car on the road.

Other jobs I did was to sort out the handbrake as it was non existent. Replace my horn, change my joeyed headlamps for some standard ones as the adjusters were broken.

Replaced my cheap hottuning coilovers for the AP's I had on my white mk3 and it has improved the ride tenfold. I will never go down the cheap coilovers route again as they are horrible, not even an improvement over standard stuff.

Put my plastic arches back on as de-arching just doesn't look right with textured bumper tops.

My boot is slightly open, its not just fitted badly lol.

Needing to get two front tyres ofr the Lenso's and will sort the ride hight out after then. Just kept the AP's raised a bit for its MOT. Not going to lower it too much though, just a wee bit more at the rear as want it to be a more user friendly daily driver.

Plan to replace the engine soon one I find a low mileage one as the current one is nearing 200k and is smiking a bit and down on compression especially on one of the cylinders. Got one sitting but thats has 145k on it so would be a bit of a false economy sticking that in.

Anyway took her for her MOT yesterday and passed first time so thats it for another year. Still need to rip my dash out and sort out the flaps in the heater box so thats the next job on the list. Will get more pics up once Ive got her looking how i want. Fancy swapping my wheels for something else maybe.

Another wee update with the vr, first a few pics of how she looks just now.

Need some tyres for the Lenzo's but think I am going to change them for something else anyway.

Had a load of bother with the electrics past few weeks. Was throwing a camshaft position sensor code and intermittently cutting out. Put a brand new distributor on it but it never solved the problem but traced some damaged wiring in the loom and its not broke down since so hopefully that's it sorted.

Also bough another engine for it as mine isn't great with its high miles so got a 80K lump with new chains although wasn't happy with some oiled up plugs so stripped it for inspection. Going to put some new exhaust valves in it and a new head gasket and it will be good to go.

That's the next job anyway. More updates soon.

Cheers mate....its my first time stripping a vr lump down and they are pretty simple mechanically. Not gonna strip block though as it appears to be in good nick. New exhaust valves ground in and new stem seals should sort it out.

Just a few pics of recent goings on. Fitted my engine and it goes really well.

Next job is to strip dash out and repair the foam on the heater flaps. Got a full replacement interior to go in it. Better blue dash and doorcards, carpets etc. Mint headlining to go in too.
