Didn't mean to generalise Jay as I know most still have just the single person doing the show but even Wave (not my choice to listen to it, I usually chuck my Ipod on) has three people presenting the morning/evening shows talking mindless drivel and making themselves out to be heroes

Mills is older than Moyles? a month in it if that?

Chris was the best thing to happen to radio 1, epic shows, great followers, loads of chit chat and cutting out all the crap music, taking the mic out of the public and stars alike.

Raised more money than most ever will for charity... the list goes on..

Roy walker?

Even Scott Mills is getting on a bit these days, i would have liked to see Sarah Cox come back.

But is it full of crap ad's all the way through? and loads of banter?

May give it a listen if thats the case.

6music is by far the best. Shaun Keaveny is funny. Fact.

Did he not sit in last year for a week on his own when Mills was ill, they asked a load of DJ's to do it and he said sod it and went in on his own....

I think it would be interesting to hear Chris without his posse which would mean he'd have to play more music and  his musical taste is a bit dubious at times.

Edited my original post as it didn't come out how I originally intended it to

The Beeb arent commercially driven so I doubt they will give a sh!t.  Your licence fee will still go up. Its just it will help fund some other worthless so called celebrity......

The BBC aren't commercially driven: true. But as part of the licence each station has to justify itself as catering for a different audience. Radio 1 is aimed at 14-24ish, Radio 2 is 24-40ish, Radio 3 - specialist classical/jazz music, Radio 4 is 40+ talk/news/current affairs/documentary, Radio 5 is for news and sports, 6Music - specialist music, etc.

The Chris Moyles show was no longer attracting the right audience for Radio 1's demographic.
I met him about 10yrs ago and he was quite egotistical then, so after so many years proclaiming himself as the "saviour of Radio 1" (and with the ratings back him up) his ego has just grown and grown.

The same thing happened with Chris Evans when he did the breakfast show on Radio 1 before. But he left and had a long break. Now he's back on Radio 2 for the breakfast show and he's much better than he used to be.

By the way, the licence fee is currently frozen, so it's not costing you any more and the replacement for Chris Moyles is likely to have a much smaller salary. Indeed even the new Director General of the BBC who started today has a significantly smaller salary (about £100k less) than the previous guy.

If you don't like what's on the BBC radio stations, don't listen, it's your choice. Personally I can't stand listening to commercial stations, I hate the way the adverts get in the way of the music and chat.
If you want to listen to something on the way to work, but you don't like what's on the radio, why don't you try downloading one of the millions of podcasts available.

Most of the Moyles haters are simply jealous and just jumping on the populist bandwagons. They hear a few people say bad hate filled words for unfounded reasons and think 'well maybe if I jump onto that bandwagon, I can look to be sharing a popular view too'.

I liked the Moyles show, it was funny, broke up a part of the morning and sh!t music that swamps R1. But sh!t music aside which is all over R1, the reason I listened to Moyles was for a laugh, he was funny, his team were funny, it was a really entertaining show.

R1's ratings will be hit by his departure. I've turned off R1, no reason to listen now. So I'm now broadening my horizons now with a spot of R2 in the morning and sometimes LBC also.
80% of your posts are total tripe, as they are mostly replies to sh1te posts created by the morons that, unfortunately this forum attracts.

Loved his show and the morning drive to work is now very boring :(
loved the banter they got up to and it wasnt the stupid banter that mills does.
