At the risk of starting yet another 'mine is bigger/better/faster' than yours, the 206gti is quicker than an 8v mk3 and i own an 8v mk3.

YES! I used to have partial rights to a 205 Gti, with an MI16 2.0 block. It only produced 150-170bhp, but holy moly it was a rancid beast and used to tingle my testicles every time I abused it
