Thanks for all the sympathy and good wishs people, much appreciated. Still so angry about what happened. As for killing him I was going to. As soon as it happened I jumped outta the car and started shouting and screaming at him but there was a whole crowd of people and then I heard my daughter crying so all my attention and focus went on her. Would love to do serious damage to him but the pathetic excuse of a man he was just isn't worth wasting the energy on.

Good man....

To be honest, you know how the law is, you could kick is head in and end up in more trouble than him!

At least you had a tow bar fitted so his car will be totally shagged and he'll not get paid by the insurance as he was DUI...

Not much of a consolation....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but won't his insurance be void as he was driving under the influence, so subsequently, won't pay out for the OP either?

As much as I would have loved to grab the wheel brace out of the car and start modifying his face, it would not have done me or my family any favours. I think once the money comes through, although it will take a while, I may buy another Golf cause during the brief stint that I owned it I really enjoyed it. Here is another pic of the damage

Don't think this is true... If the OP's fully comp it won't matter...

I was only TPFT   The person dealing with the claim said that it could cause a problem that he was drunk but because the car was insured they are still liable to some extent and any injury claim will pay out. To be honest I probably won't get much back for the car cause they'll probably value it at something daft like £400   So pissed off but I suppose it could have been worse. Can't quite believe I've been in a motorbike accident and car accident within 4 weeks. Like you know you are having a bad month when you get brought into hospital by ambulance on a stretcher and neck brace and the nurse says "do i recognise you? You were in for a motorbike accident 3 weeks ago weren't you?"

this is a rare case when I would actually recommend a no win no fee solicitor to sue him for personal injury.

How the feck is that fair, it shouldn't matter what state he was in, if he's insured you should be payed and then his insurer should screw him!  Grrrrrrrrr

this is a rare case when I would actually recommend a no win no fee solicitor to sue him for personal injury.

And yes, regardless of what you get for the car, sue the feck out of him, damages, stress, shock, whiplash, distress, whatever you can squeeze out it...

Sorry, but I hate drink drivers!
