Wheel alignment. Symmetrical or -1 camber NS?
« on: 21 August 2012, 16:48 »
Need to get my geometry set up, but my question is whether or not you guys get them set up symmetrical or do you get the -1 camber on the NS to make up for road camber? Reason I ask is because I've always had it done symmetrical but wondering whether or not it's worth getting it done the other way? I can see it benefiting if doing motorway miles or for your average sunday driver, but for us car enthusiasts that like to give the car a good drive I wonder whether having -1 on one side will affect handling?

Any other opinions? I do feel symmetrical is a no brainer really  :undecided: And what's the best camber you lot find works best? Obviously as much -ve camber as possible on the standard bolts is best but it'll ruin the tyres, so what's the best compromise? 0 sounds boring

i run -1.25 degree each side tracked straight ahead. no uneven tyre wear

i have never heard of anyone ever running more -ve camber on one side to compensate for road camber

Don't you have much more wear on the insides of the tyre with -1.25? I was thinking more like 0.5, seeing as standard its 0.3.
