mkII golf 8v - 16v wiring nightmare

Hi.  I have had a 16v GTI engine put in my 8v Golf Gti (1987).
I can't work out the age of the engine (327103021 is the number on the engine).  I also really need a detailed diagram of the engine wiring to complete the job.  I need the engine age to see if I have the correct ECU.

That number you quoted for the engine number doesn't look familiar, are there no letters at the start of the code? I'll check my workshop manual and ETKA later on today, when I have access to them, to see if they can shed any light.

I've had a look through everything that I have and I can't find that engine number listed. That's not to say that its wrong as most of my info is based on American models so I may still have the information to help. I have also looked at http://www.eurocarparts.co.uk/ and tried entering various car details to see if I could get that engine number to come up, to no avail. However,  if you look here:-
