A thumbs up from me.
Mind you those ones are loaded with extras. I bet by the time you've ordered the 230PS model, added the 19'' wheels, xenons and nav you're into £40k money.

How long until we're putting those little front corner splitters on our mk6s?

Looks like the new S3 is gonna be 30k-31k starting price. VW don't wanna be shooting themselves in the foot!
I expect the GTI will come in at around the same prices as now but the spec will be pared down a bit. All the new tech will be extra. Lets just hope 18" alloys will be standard and the rest we can retro-fit like we did with the mk6s.

I quite like it, don't like the stripe on the lights though. 3 door looks loads better as ive never liked the rear quarter panel window on the mk5 and 6. If it comes in around 25-26k i might be tempted as i sold my ed35 2 months ago.

Order a red one and you won't be able to see the stripe.  :smug:
I'm with you on the rear window styling, the mk5 & 6 3 door just looked blobby but they've done a really good job of the mk7 and the 3 door looks better than the 5 door.

I'd have to look twice to notice the difference between the Mk6 and the new one. Subtle doesn't begin to describe it.

In a way, this is a good thing cos it doesn't scream "come and buy me" to me so I'll keep mine longer I reckon and save nigh on £30k!!

From VW UK on twitter: S from £16985, SE from £19790 and GT from £22050

2.0 TDI 150ps DSG @ £24625

Like a human form of twitter I'm updating here again: The Leon prices now released and the FR DSG 150 weighs in at ££22635 so very close to the GT Golf...
The 180 bhp Leon FR TDI is in at £22375 in manual guise so I wonder how the specs will compare...

Same thread on Pistonheads where its being compared to the cheaper ST.

I guess thats unavoidable but I know where I would spend my £30k.

I think the Mk7 GTi looks great. A quality product. Love the design touches like the golf ball gear lever and the tartan cloth keeping with tradition.

Great stats as well but agree withe everyone else on here that the performance pack would have to be specced as well.
Mk6 GTi - returned to leasing company after 3 great years and replaced with :

Mk5 GTi - Edition 30 - Revo 1 and some tweaks - 310 bhp. Its a better car than the Mk6  - Now sold and replaced with :

Mk6 R - Rising Blue 5 Door. Won't be standard 270bhp for long

Family Car : Mercedes ML420 with 360 bhp
Looking at Porsche Macan as replacement
