wtf it looks all weird?!

The clocks have changed. The clock on the forum, saying when so and so posted X about Y and the clock in the bottom left hand corner of my laptop don't match up! My phone, internet based, and laptop match up but the forum ones seems to be about 90 secs ahead...My OCD just hit a new level. 

Someone please explain, or amend the error!

I had not logged on for about two weeks, it came up and i thought..........huh? **checks domain** ah, nice!

Not a fan at all look wise, prefer the old color scheme, everything seems more bulky and I hate the width issue its like I have two huge grey area's each side and a little table of 2inches wide for text bang in the middle, if I wanted to read things that narrow I would of used my phone.

However I do enjoy some of the new features.

Why would making the site completely sh!t get more members? I joined this site as it was the one I liked most and thought looked best, now it is as crap as the rest, I don't mind change to improve things, but I hate things getting changed and being worse because of it, I will certainly be on here less because of it, I did like using this site, now I just can't be bothered with it, either have the problem that golf-sib mentioned where there is a lot of wasted space each side or the page is too wide for the screen and I have to scroll side to side to read posts.

Then do some research into browser resolutions across today's very varied device and browser platforms.

Think about things such as how easy it is for users on high resolutions to use the browser zoom feature versus how annoying it is on small res screens to have to scroll about the place. Ponder the expansion of tablet devices and how even they have wildly different graphics resolution. It goes without saying that you need to allow for a plethora of mobile devices but I am sure that was obvious to you.

Next, look at SMF2 themes, build yourself a test website and try out different designs. Remember you are likely to need to customise extensively, perhaps even contract out some of this work.

When all that is done, come back and present your design conclusions. How long do you need?
