Rough figure?
£12k ish in parts alone.

I spent just over that travelling!!

Is that the cost from the very start of the R project to current point?

I suppose if you add the additional £12k-ish spent, onto the original purchase price of the R (bought used - assuming somewhere circa £20k), that works out roughly the same it would've cost to buy an R brand new (give or take any additonal costs).  But this way you have the benefits of modifying the car to suit your specific requirements and the challenge and enjoyment of the progressing through a project.

I saved £13,500 over the new price paid by buying the car at a year old with 5k miles on it.

That is for my current set-up. Remember I still have all the original parts, so when it comes time to sell I should get 1/2 to 2/3rds of my outlay on hardware back.

Yes, that makes it a very viable option.

If you get good resale prices on your used parts then you could be quids in (over the cost of a new R)

Yes the Clutchpacks and gearbox are still factory. The BT set-up actually runs lower torque.

If the weather is fine I will be at the pod for Spring fest.

Good day at Santa Pod today. 120 miles each way and 5 runs up the strip. All runs done on low boost setting using 99ron and WMI and in pump mode ( not race file ). This was just to gauge performance and a day out.. The results were very good.

19oC, clear day with a 9-15mph headwind.

Result was a pass of 11.46 at 120.15mph off a fairly poor 60' time of 1.83 seconds.

My last run would have been my best as I did a 60' of 1.75 but geared up just as I hit the auto shift point and the ***** gearbox went up 2 gears and dropped me out of the power band. Still an 11.54 ET but would have been an 11.3.

All in all the car is running excellent.

Pic of two of the slips. I'm number 54.

For comparison a 650bhp GTR was doing 11.2 at 125mph

Great work

That GTR won't see you for dust, once you're in full race set up and on full boost

I bet it will, given his history he will sell it once it's finished!
