just get the angle grinder out! u need to take the lip away from the top of the arch so they dont scrub... have u fitted them with spacers? and u will need some stijaflex or tiger seal as u will have o bond the arches back on

Been to halfords this morning...

Shopping list consisted of the following..

2x Cans of Underseal (might have to remove the plastic lining inside the arch!)
1x Can of NO MORE NAILS (to bond G60 arches back onto the body)
1x can of NO MORE SEAL GUNS (to seal the aches so no water gets behind)
1x Small can of silver Hamerite (to seal the cut arch, dont want any rust!)
1x Paint brush (to paint on the hamerite )

Just gotta borrow an angle grinder now.. and wait for the G60 aches to arrive.

Might get the camera out and do a step by step tutorail..

did you buy balls

I would cut long lines upwards from the lip and flare it out. then drill a few holes and put a spot weld in the holes.

club gti have a guide but cant find it

Home arch rolling, by tubthumped.

Get the car jacked up and remove the wheel.. then take your arch trim and arch liner off. I then jigswaed about 1/2" of metal from the arch, but make sure you start from ABOVE the riveting points in the arch.... When you have the metal cut off get a set of pliers on the adge and bend it round to create a lip, like before. Place a block against the outside of the arch and use a nylon/rubber hammer to fold this lip neatly into the arch, making sure it's nice and tight. The seal everything... get some good quality sealant and stone chip protector. Flood the lip with it and cover EVERYTHING! To get you arch liner sitting in the arch again you will have to make vertical slots on all of the holes and extend the cutout that goes around your suspension turret... this will then tilt back a little and sit in the arch as before. Final step is to bond your arches back on and rivet them as before... And hey presto... rolled arches with all the strength and style of before!

BTW thats just a guide for the fronts. IMO.

The rears are twin skinned, thus when you angle grind the rear lips you will break the seal between them. It requires welding back up at the rear (seam weld) otherwise you will get rusty arches and the entire rear sections will start to fall apart over time.

baby blue... What size u running on then???

Mine are 16x9.. have even test run them yet... I was speaking to a guy who said u could cut enough away at the rear and not effect the weld points.. u think this is right?
