I Absolutley Adored my mk3 Valver, And the car i had prior to that was a beautiful mk5 GT TDI Sport 170bhp DSG modle fully specc'd up, I fell into money troubles and alas it had to go, i had a consession of other cheapo motors such as a polo & a mk4 escort, but I loved my mk3!!
it was smooth reliable, comfortable & fairly capable when tweaked slightly,
There are a lot of haters out there simply because they wont try one, or have never tried one,
When the wife bought me the mk2, I actually had second thoughts about getting shot of the mk3 an when the shell went to scrap i actually teared up a bit, so i have taken as much of her over onto the mk2 as possible so that she will live on in the shape of the car that it always wanted to be!! this was always my biggest bug bare when mk2 owners slated the mk3, as it shares a fair amount of components with the mk2!!!
my mk2 will be reminded where it came from regularly!
Mk3 ABF,
gearbox,
shifter,
clutch slave,
subframe,
wishbones,
steering rack,
rear axle,
brakes,
coilover suspension,
petrol tank & pump & fuel lines & wiring,
engine loom & coil,
lighting loom (cos the mk3 loom is betterer an more reliable)
Imobiliser & digifant 3.2 ECU (cos its more reliable than the mk2 items)
exhaust downpipe,
wheels,
almost most importantly my anni seats & gearknob & gaiter
Thats a whole long list of mk3 parts for the mk2 to recieve that the mk3 haters can shove in their pipe an smoke it!!
LONG LIVE THE MK3 keep em going guys ( or recycle as much as ya can)
