Yes but to do it to a high standard is going to cost the same as fitting a 1.8t.

keep going with the mk3 as is,

save the money - you might need it one day

You need to think about what it is exactly you are bored of, how it looks, how it goes or the whole car overall?

Spend it on cheap hookers and jaffacakes

Or get some nice wheels like stated(they always hold there value) then get your car to a pro detailer for a full correction package inside and out,this will make your car look like new and you will fall back in love with it.
I wouldnt bother doing anything with your engine but it is maybe worth buying a few bits towards and engine conversion of your choice.Then with the bits sat in the garage looking at you,it may give you a kick up the arse to crack on with it.

I also find if you lkook through readers rides section,it can spur you on lots.

But failing that,revert back to cheap hookers and jaffa cakes every time!

Keep the cash and if you are after a bit of fun in your mk3 I'd say track days or try driving it with your eyes shut you never know it could be fun
