If it was me ide be usin the mk3 subframe and front cross member. Then the vr mounts are there already. Just need a solid front mount and get 2 new rear mounts. Pm me if u have any other questions buddy and ill give you my number. Ill help as much as possible.
I know what ur sayin about the 1 day a week, I don't even get that and my cars where I work. Haha

U dont need to remove any of the engine harness just unplug it at big round multi plug back right side of engine

A simple tip is there should be nothing stopping you running your hand round the engine and gearbox apart from the engine mounts. And that means round on the horizontal and the vertical. Only then should you lift using the crane.

I'm sure a standard mk3 vr6 cross member wont fit, you'll need either:
- a mk2 cross member with solid conversion mount (like the OP has), or
- a mk2 cross member, with the centre cut out, and a mk3 cross member centre welded in, or
- a corrado vr6 cross member (can be difficult to get hold of)


I don't think a semi will give the same results

I was not sure on the vr crossmember, but now I know for future referance
