Megs endurance tyre gel?
« on: 19 July 2012, 23:51 »
I bought some Megs endurance tyre gel today and will pick up some foam dish washing pads to use to apply it.  I heard about buffing off as it can spray?  What do you use to buff of with?

Also how long will you leave it on for before you buff it?

Apply it thin and if possible leave for 30 mins to an hour then go round with a microfibre cloth to remove any excess, less you put on the less you've got to remove.

if you don't buff it off it sprays up the side of the car.

i got the mess applicator as well or used to use an old foam applicator pad but a washing up sponge would be fine too as long as it doesn't tear up

I use cheap washing up sponges too (plus rubber gloves )

I find if you go easy on the amount you use, and rub the gel in well, it does'nt need buffing off.  Just needs a little time to dry.

The trick is to scrub it in, not paint in on

I also put some in a tub and then use a painting brush as a applicator, it's very useful when getting in the tyre grooves...

Has anyone tried the spray endurance that Waxamomo offer?

I currently use the poorey bottle of megs, I've just now found out megs offer a spray bottle and wondering if it's an easier applicator than the poorey...

yes mate ive got the gel and the spray, the spray is good but dont go for direct tyre application with the spray as its messy, i spray it onto an applicator or my tyre brush and apply it like that so no over spray on the wheels or panels.

No probs mate,
also consider carpro perl which is a fantastic tyre dressing which can also be used on plastics. Can be used neat or diluted so you can control the gloss on it.
