Too low. And with that much of the floor pan missing, you might as well cut out the front footwells, lose the engine and make it Flintstone foot-powered.

DH is right.

Rat look is of course subjective, but those look wrong. The combination of paint and rust looks like a bird did a rust-sh1t on it.

We saw a rat-look beetle the other day and I tried to explain it to my wife, but couldn't.

I personally dont think it looks that bad and its clearly more a show car than a daily.A close friend of mine has a VW split screen van thats a very simlar theme and stupid low along with a Karmann Ghia Razor edge again stupidly low but I love both of them just my view cant all be the same on here..

Wot he said, I concur.

Is there a story behind it? Like was it a MT failure with rotten floor pan so it was instead turned into a project?

Cutting up perfectly (mechanically) good cars to do sh!t like this to really grinds my gears.

Agree, if this was a wreck in the first place I would appreciate what they have done, more.

As far as I know the car was put together by the guys at BagYard and has been going for a while, however I'm not sure of it's past.

More on it:

Take a look at the tyres!    Some people moan about stretch tyres, how about the opposite?

As art goes, I love it but agree it has no practical use as a car and it probably isnt used as one. Get it in an art gallery.
It says location up there ↖
