If its a HG then i can help you out with it. I had an over pressurised cooling system and it burst a core plug last week. My blue coolant cap was damaged and was missing the rubber seal so I fitted the black cap as an emergency (bad idea) and the core plug let go.
That waterpump to metal pipe hose is the worst job ever!
Get a new coolant cap while your at it.
