On the parkers website it says the 16v is only half a second behind the vr, it varies where you look, people underestimate the mk3 far too much

Id say the original hot hatches, Golf GTI, pug 205 GTI etc etc will allways be the hot hatches....

Now its just ST's/VXR's  driven by arseholes who will still be paying them off in 10yrs time. Cool cars, made seriously uncool. Therefore in my logic, not a hot hatch

Clio Williams for me was THE hot hatch, i would have that over ANY other car!

dont forget the GTE,s and the 309 gti  i had both and they were propper hot hatches. the handling of the mk1 astra GTE and the 309 gti was insane. well it seemed it at the time. there is no way i would push my golf into corners at the speeds i did with them cars. although that maybe as i was younge and stupid then 
but the torsion bar rear suspension on the 309 gti just stuck like sh!t to a blanket

My 1st car was a mk1 Astra.Stuck a retop in it in the end and it handled fecking brilliant!
