mk3 golf vr6, a hot hatch?

My 1st car was a mk1 Astra.Stuck a retop in it in the end and it handled fecking brilliant!

yeah my mk1 GTE was awesome in corners. i still had mine a few years back stored on my mums garage for over 7 odd years. went to restor it a couple of yours ago but the rot had gone to far. and it had a very rare irmschter quad headlight grill conversion with a lower front skirt.
theres pics of in on here somewhere in one of the threads. was totally gutted when i took the front wings off and it was totally rotten.
the standered recaro seats were lovely aswell.

Clio Williams for me was THE hot hatch, i would have that over ANY other car!

+1 to this I've had three mk1 clios and woulda loved a Williams

The mk1 GTi was a proper hot hatch all golfs after that were too fat and my favorite was the pug 309 Gti, superb handling, decent amount of space and a reliable family motor too.

yeah and the rear window feature was wicket with the 2 levers on the centre consale that opened and closed the tilt rear windows.

the honda civic type r ek9 is supposed to be THE hot hatch and they hold their value so well, for a nice one they still command around 6k and i myself is looking to buy one

the integra type r so an incredible handling machine and the ek9 is supposed to be better

for some reason i still dont see them as hot hatches. i see them as jab scene.

Test drove a couple earlier this year, handles great but little torque and nothing much happens below 4k.

my mate works for tegiwa(japanese car specialist) and he says they are pretty gutless also, but if you have the b18 from the integra in there its meant to be the car it should of been

the b18 is fantastic in the integra and achieves 0-60 in under 7 seconds easily, if i end up buying the civic i would have the k20 engine in there at some point

I would not say it is gutless as such but against mine it felt slow, once it was on cam it felt quicker however.

It was a good looking car too i think, squared off and with a good stance straight out of the box and the 4 bezeled fog/driving lights looked great.
