To be clear the VW dealer wanted to charge me labour for removing existing wheel bolts with their own key which they would not sell me a copy of. They then wanted to supply and fit a new set of locking bolts for fifty quid. I never got as far as asking for total price, but with one hour's labour my guess was a total over a ton inc vat. And yet the independent was able to solve my problem for fifteen quid.
Guess where I'll be going and who I'll be recommending going forwards...
