broken engine mount

Just took my gti 8v in for new thermostat and to have carb blasted. When chap dropped it off he said he noticed my r/h rear engine mount has broken which explained why car is funny about picking gears. Anyone fitted one before how easy/hard would it be priced up mount already got tools waiting

is it the hydraulic one? Mine was a pig, as my engine had rocked enough to bend the bolt slightly so that it wouldn't undo

Not sure mate haven't had a ganders yet will get under bonnet after work. Hope mine ain't a pain to sort been driving it gently since iv had it depends if previous owner has been rigging it round

Might as well change the front one while you are at it. Makes a tonne of difference.

Think that would be a good idea as car has done 140 on clock

Front and gearbox mounts are pretty simple, the rear engine one is slightly trickier though as the access for tools is very limited and will punish your knuckles severely.

il be changing my rear one soon as its shot, can see all the grease on it. luckily though doing mine when swapping the engine so!
