I said "a cost", not "cost price"!

They do the inside too, and of course labour's going to be the main cost, so it's not as bad as £290, but I agree they're trying to make money.

£300??? I thought you said "cost price"

Not Smart Guard, but the same sort of thing http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Supagard-car-protection-kit-/271003804189?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Car_Care_Cleaning&hash=item3f1915e21d

Looks like the dealers is trying to make an extra £290 out of you.

There taking the P*ss with that sort of price

I'd put aside the money for this and have it done by a professional detailer in a few months time, when the "newness" of your car has worn off

Good luck with the pickup .. not long to go now !

They did come down below £300 including £75 worth of accessories (that I wanted anyway), and they do use a valet company, but still I think I'll get it done on my own front drive by a specialist.

Thanks for all the advice!

Yes, not long now.  It's been a long wait - ordered end of March.  Will I miss my old MkV though?  We've been through a lot together!

Whereabouts are you? Might be able to recommend a detailer...

I'd go the detailer route and on a new car its always cheaper as its new car protection rather than correction or enhancement so you'll get a better results for less.

is the dealer trying to stick that £300 on the finance too?

that means your paying interest on it over 2/3/4 years or whatever so that car polish will have cost you closer to £500 by the time its paid for

Any recommendations for detailers welcome - I'm in Oxfordshire.

No, they're not trying to put it on finance.

Thanks!
