i have a feeling this is one of them things that look good in pics but once you fit one to your car you realise it looks cack 
if i was to fit one i think i maye put a couple of washers between my lights and the body to bring the lights out just a touch as the thickness of them looks like it stands proud abit

I wouldn't do that. You won't creat a seal. Better off get 2 or 3 light seals to pack it out. Even then I think the bolts will be to short.

Ive seen it with all red rears and it didn't really work due to the lights being so pink,

Works well with CL lights though.
