Just got a One X in preference to the Samsung (neither feel that good but I like the HTC way of doing things and it feels better than the samsung so went that way). Cant really fault it thus far, seems bloody quick over a Wi-Fi connection and the screen is rather tasty too. The interior pictures i have taken thus far are pretty gash, but to make up for it, the music quality is excellent.

So my wife is getting bored of waiting so I call Voda to find out when I can cancel and what the early cancellation fee is and what deal they can do a long time customer etc

It turns out that Voda can't beat other smaller providers, renting the Voda network and apparently CPW customers etc who use the Voda network get a "second rate" service as direct Voda customers get priority.

Voda, as large as they are, apparently don't have the buying power the smaller companies have and the best deal they can do for an S3 is £36 a month with a free phone, even for a long time customer who has used them for the last 11years in the UK and a few years in South Africa under the Vodacom brand.

Here are the deals MSM have at the mo on the White S3:

http://www.moneysupermarket.com/mobile-phones/brands/samsung/galaxy-siii-white/

and Voda's deals:

http://www.vodafone.co.uk/brands/samsung/galaxy-s3/index.htm?icmp=int-vod-hpg-m2-bt

I wouldn't mind paying more IF she were to use almost 600 minutes, but she won't even use 300 and if she does it will be rare.
So it looks like either T-Mobile or Voda by proxy.

What is T-Mobile like? I've never used them, but the building I work in has a T-Mobile repeater Cel-Fi/Sure signal type thing because the other company we share the building with use T-Mobile and the signal was shocking.

depends where you are j. I have had orange and t mobile previously and once i got them home the network doesnt exsist.

I would try it at home/work and the places you spend most time. Even if it does work there.... doesnt mean it will when you most need it  :lipsrsealed:

generally t mobile works better down south... but for where i am it had to be o2 or voda

T-mobile/Orange will be first to get 4G network up and running, from what I've read.  re: trial in Cornwall, and proposal to use existing spare frequency.

I see that the Nokia Lumia 900 is now half price in the US after a bit of a collapse. Reviewers love it but no one is buying it.  Maybe becuase it cannot be updated to WIN 10, and they're out in the new year.

Still, it's a nice phone and works well.

Other than that, why don't you fly in the face of convention and wait (again ) for BB10 in the new year.

'Long term customer' etc means sh1t.

Phone them and tell them you are going to leave. End of.

Then negotiate.

I knows. Family member is an insider.

R32, Almost everyone I know is on Voda down here, other than the station who had to have the Cel-Fi thing installed to give them decent coverage in the office.

Elvi, I'd take a Lumia 900 right now but seeing as the updates have to be approved by the mobile carrier which can take some time if ever, Windows Phone 8 updates will come direct from MS so no waiting around months for the updates  BB who?   The upgrade to Win Phone 8 wouldn't bother me as most apps (I hope) will be recompiled for Windows Phone 7.x too by the developers. There's also BlueStacks who I hope will pull off their Android apps for Windows 8  to open the app market a bit as it were http://www.neowin.net/news/windows-8-to-run-android-apps-via-bluestacks

Organisys, she made the excuses for Voda's more expensive rates and before I could even ask about negotiating she said the phone my wife wants (S3) were all on non-negotiable contracts because they're already as cheap as they can go - I did ask again after she gave me the PAC codes for both contracts if it was definitely non-negotiable to which she said that's the best they can do. I may give them another ring and be a bit more forceful, maybe speak to a supervisor or manager.

I'm on vodafone and I can't wait to leave the robbing, ungrateful cnuts. I'll be going with orange most likely, or T-mobile as they have great deals and use orange signal, so get good coverage.

S3, one X or One S for me. S3 most likely.
