Just as we were walking in, another car came into the car park. No prizes for guessing which space he aimed for.  Needless to say, I was back there and moved my car into a now vacant space next to a disabled bay.

Tossers!
I've been known to just drive home before if a car park is too full

Apart from supermarket car parks, I hate using airport car parks. You can park in what looks like a fairly low risk space, away from other cars when you arrive, but there can be lots of comings and goings of other cars / inconsiderate parkers while you're away, and people squeezing past your car with large suitcases and bags, increasing the risk of damage.

I had my previous car damaged at Stansted airport by some T0$$€R opening their door onto my car and leaving me with a nice ding in the door. I know a ding can be easily repaired, but it really p!$$€d me off at the time, as it was the only damage on an otherwise unblemished car in nearly 4 years.

Whenever possible, I now try and arrange a lift to airports to avoid having to leave my car in the danger zone!

I've never, ever parked at an airport and never will.

It makes no economic sense, but it's good to have an old car for car parks, shops, unmade roads, driving to work, taking the kids to wherever club they're going to, winter etc. That's why I still have my 8 year old Passat. It's great for the daily grind and means I never have to drive the Golfs unless I really want to. It does beg the question, why do I have the Golfs?
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

I'd be worried that would tempt people.. or children.. to try it even more. I probably would if I went to get into my car and the one next to me told me to step away. I'd try it a few more times lol

Don't know how that would stop some nugget pranging your door with theirs though in a car park!?

I agree with dubber re another car. I bought an old Skoda for £300 purely because we were flying from Edinburgh airport (I'm from Glasgow) and there was no way I was leaving the Golf in a car park for 2 weeks.

It was one of the best purchases I ever made. 12 months MOT 6 months tax. Sold it back on Gumtree for £200 a year later with only a couple of days MOT left!!

It was great for the winter and the weekly shopping although I still found myself parking it in end / isolated spaces away from other cars. Old habits and all that

I couldn't leave the Golf in any car park apart from Costco who have door friendly sized spaces.
