Yeah, sorry, that was the knock sensor. The earth look fine, I get continuity from one end to the other on the multimeter, I'm starting to suspect it may be the ignition switch but I do get 12v at the starter motor trigger wire when I turn the key. At a bit of a loose end at the moment.

I just got a mk3 starter motor for 25 quid and banged that on mine. Works a treat.

Scrub that, just earthed starter motor body to the battery and it shifted into life so guess it's an earth problem, cheers guys.
