How about some Eibach springs for £130 then spend the rest on bushes, top mounts etc.

For an 8v then around £220 brand new, cheaper used obviously.

Gains depends on what cam you buy and what else has been done to the car. My 8v made 138hp with a rally spec cam, catback and airbox mods.

Ive been after schimmel cams for my 16v, but i think they only do them for the vr6
