Its usually only the top of the handbrake mech pin that rusts on the caliper, you can knock the pin out a bit, clean it up with emery paper, lash on wd40, free it all up and then grease it.

Is the pin at the top of the caliper or lower down. I will have a look tomorrow, is there any picture as a reference to show what I am looking for. Also would the cone head on the hub need to be removed and greased where the hub pin is i think. I don't really know what I am talking about I suppose, but I am trying lol, sorry to be a pain.

see the gold bolt where it goes into the caliper - thats where it rusts & seizes, knock it out a bit & clean it up lash with wd40, push back in again, wiggle about etc. its just moving parts so nothing too complicated :)



you can also remove the caliper of the disk, and make sure the piston itself is free moving. pump it out a bit (just be careful not to pump to far & pop it out), wind it back in etc
