Not had any problems personally with my Rocco but i am a little concerned they found yours to be mapped so easily, i was under the impression they would only know if they really went looking for it

i may have to remove my map before its first service   :undecided:

They said a code was logged as soon as they ran the diagnostics which basically meant that the software had been modified, I'd already told them it was mapped anyhow as like to stay on their good side and don't have anything to hide but even so

I took mine in with it being mapped... And a bigger Turbo and no cat and they never said anything to me... I went into stock mode though on my ECU. Maybe that was what it was?? What map do you have?

Yeah I think this particular dealership would be ok with any modifications but when they can see the ECU has been modified and it is automatically recorded and sent to VW UK with a scan of the car, unfortunately there's nothing they can do, so putting it back to stock would avoid that I imagine. It's a Shark Performance map.

Did you have the map done at shark performance HQ or a local dealer?

Local but then had it tweaked at Shark's unit as I wasn't happy with it to begin with

Its at times like this I would worry about the warranty not being honoured, best of luck
Current: GTI Edition 35 Candy White 5dr DSG 19" Glendale, RCD510+DAB, Dynaudio, Storage Pack, Parking Sensors

Gone: Edition 35, GTI Mk6, Edition 30, GTI Mk4, GTI Mk3, GTI Mk2 and my favourite the UR quattro
For those that dont know DSG is an electronically controlled dual-clutch multiple-shaft manual gearbox

To be honest the warranty can only be invalidated (or rather withdrawn) if the component requiring repair/replacement has been affected as a direct result of the modification. They can't argue that a squeaky boot hatch is the result of having swapped out the air intake for an aftermarket version.
