Just fitted a new pipe obtained from the link I posted previously. A pig to do but it does fit OK. Remove the oil filter as advised earlier to make it easier though.

I personally wouldn't bother with trying to replace the metal coolant pipe.  I had the exact same issue with mine after I bought it about 5 months ago (16v)  Except mine wasn't held together with a sleeve, it was held together with limescale and crust!

I spent some time measuring and buying replacement rubber and silicone pipe plus T-pieces and then routing it roughly the same way around the front/side of the block.  It looks much, much better now, no coolant leaks and I don't have to worry about replacing it again soon after the 2nd hand one I bought rusts through too!  That's my recommendation, anyway!

Pattern 8v is available though i understand the 16v isnt

I had this pipe go in the same place too a couple of months ago, it cost me about 75-80 quid to get replaced in the garage,
