You will have a PNC marker on your car now. Every ANPR camera will flag your car as your plates are more than likely on a stolen vehicle.

Just be prepared to get pulled a lot until the matter with your plates is resolved.

What car have you got out of interest?

In that case, he should expect lots of speeding, tail gating, over taking, road ownership tickets in the post

Intrigued in what will now happen- is the registration number reported as stolen and any vehicle sporting these plates be treated as such?, will the original car now have a new registration assigned to it? - what do you do in the interim with no plates?

irrc police look into it, he may end up getting pulled by the police with them thinking hes stolen them.
and his responsibility to get to a shop and buy new plates.

Yeah, the office i spoke to mentioned that i would get stopped if they spot the plates on my car, as long as they are doing their job i am not too fussed

got spare plates in the boot, the ones stolen were screwed in, the screws were on the floor, the spares are stick on and i got no sticky stuff to stick it on with

You get new plates on your car.

If you get stopped the VIN on your car will match the plates so no worries.

You will however get stopped a few times in the next few weeks.

The likely hood whoever stole them has already used and dumped them. They would have been used the same night they were stolen before you noticed and reported it.
