Evo, does this apply to any car on order but not yet being built? I ordered my R on 4 Feb with RNS510

I don't think it will because what you have to take into account is they would need to reorder the car in order

to not get charged for the rear view camera but then you would have to work from the new increased price list which came into affect from the 27th of April. I guess the free rear view camera is not worth the whole impact of the price increase that has occurred. Worth a call to the dealer you ordered it from and just say I see rear view camera is free now so can you take the cost off the order they might just be stupid enough to do it............

Ahh, so as I didn't order the re-view camera on my car, they wont just add it on for free?

In your case if you phone them up now and ask to add the rear view camera it all depends when they do it if sli throws up a warning about price protection.

Because you ordered it based on the old price generally if you try to go in and amend anything you will loose your price protection. As I said as some dealers might just roll over and add it to the order for you and take a hit on the fact they will lose there price protection. But if they know what they are doing they shouldn't do it.

If it's now std then surely it shouldn't need adding on to the order on SLI? Obviously you know better than me but I wouldn't have thought the order would have to be modified. You don't have to add other standard equipment on to the order on SLI?

OK thanks Evo; I might ask them for a good will discount anyway due to the long wait [and still don't know how much longer I'll have to wait  ]

Do you have a build week but it's just not confirmed?
I had the same problem when I ordered my GTI, it eventually transpired that the dealership didn't have sufficient allocation, and I cancelled and ordered elsewhere. It caused a lot of trouble for me and the dealership in question.

BTW if your car hasn't got a confirmed build week then I would assume that you will get DAB and reverse cam as standard (if they're now standard equipment, they shouldn't need adding to the order). If you have been quoted for them then I believe they should be taken off the final price by the dealership. This was my experience when leather and bluetooth were made standard. I had a fair discount on the car to begin with and they didn't even question it when I told them about leather/bt.
