I said VWR springs mated to uprated bilstein or koni etc dampers werent a tested/developed set which they aren't.
Like I said not many suspension kits are actually tested properly for each application which is what makes me only consider the b12 kit as its developed specifically for the application.
I also said in another thread if I wereto go for springs only it would be VWR springs as I wouldn't want to go more that 25mm on standard dampers but if I'm going to the trouble of doing it I'm going B12 and having done with it.
My apologies...I did pick it up wrong.
I will add this though: the best aftermarket dampers I ever used on a road car were Bilstein B8s...the worst 'matched' kit I ever tried was a Bilstein spring/damper kit for an Ibiza Cupra Sport - the springs were awful...too stiff for the sports dampers. I ended up binning them and fitting different springs.
I've also tried H&R springs (excellent) on an S3 but H&Rs coilover kit on the same car was tragic...springs too stiff for the bump/rebound damping.
In my view, springs too stiff and dampers too weak on both bump and rebound.
Personally, I'm a believer in buying dampers from damper specialists, and springs from spring specialists.
If I were replacing both springs/dampers I'd have H&R springs and Bilstein dampers top of my list.
