Hi everyone,
I'm Stephen I bought my first GTi last night starts runs goes really well actually.
It gets a bit dark then starts to rain then I discover that I have NO headlights, NO wipers, No heater and the electric windows don't work.
Other than that its wicked So if you don't mind me joining in I may need your help.

Sounds like fuses to me have you checked there first?

this is my car way before I got it but still looks the sameish

Today I changed the fusebox the headlight switch cut out loads of burnt melted wires and spliced it all back together I now have side lights but still no headlights wipers or electric windows.

Just ordered a haynes manual tho

Nice Mk2 you have there.  Missing 8 valves, but you cant have everything can you.

Wow what a bank holiday weekend 3 days spent on the car gave it a full service.
then Started on the wiring nightmare.





Complete dash strip out but now I have a new ignition switch, but my lights headlights and wipers work woop woop.
Then putting it back together I only went and blew the blooming electric window fuse.
Loving this car

Funny after spending so much time fixing the car that I am now driving the car a lot nicer
