help with head gasket.......

right people is looking like head gasket is on way out  so been trying to find a good gasket kit but can not find one. one on ebay dont look that good. does any one no where is a good place to get one from,it all so need head bolts with it.

How can you tell if its bad quality by looking at ebay pictures?

I was shopping around for a full head gasket kit inc stem seals for my vr and got the kit off ebay (cheaper than euro) and i got the bolts off euro (cheaper than ebay)

Euro took 1 week to deliver bolts

Ebay took 1 day to deliver a kit

had kit off ebay befor when i had a astra sri can with bolt but gasket was not best plus all the other gasket it can with where cheap an nasty an i paid £75 for kit an end up sending back an got one from a vaxh spears an paid £60 for it an was 100% better.

well it will be but dont fancy spending money on something cheap for it just to f-up agen as is a pain of a job.

Not that bad a job on the 8v and it's not a weak point on these engines and having done plenty of h/gaskets in the past i've found its more down to taking your time and getting everything spotless before you put it all back together.

You could always buy the ebay kit with all the other gaskets, bolts etc, but then chuck the HG away and get it off VW?

I've not any problems with my headgasket but if I had the extra money I would of gone to vw for one, and got the mk4 steel one

well iv found one on europarts for £81 an is looking so much better the ebay ones for £36. will get this one have a look if no gd will send back an just go to vw an have to spent the ex money.

Do it once and do it right  I would have gone to VW if I wasn't poor and rushed
