started stripping my engine today and this is what i found

any 1 got any ideas as to where these plastic bits are from? thery throughout my engine and blocking flow of oil somewhere :S

are they definately plastic? could be bits of old rocker gasket? on one of my cars i went to take off the rocker cover, and the old gasket was still the original manufacturer one, 14 years of age, and was basically like fossilised wood rather than cork gasket! crumbled into a million little hard bits that i had to scrape out from around the rockers all through the inside, and after rinsing with engine flush for 15 mins, more of it came out the bottom, and had clogged the oil filter.

your blockage may well be the oil filter, when was it last changed?
if those bits are circulating through your engine oil system, they will get caught by the filter, and if there was enough of it, the oil filter's flow would be severely reduced

might be to do with the sump

definetely plastic, the gasket is still there and in 1 piece, so should i drain the oil and check the filter?
i havent took anymore of the engine off yet as i dont want to go down any further than neccessary lol
should i take the sump off 2 for a check?

yeah i would looks like sump baffle but cant be sure

Id take the sump off. Have seen this before and was broken up sump baffle and was blocking the oil pick up when oil pressure increased.

Yes, those bits may also have come from the cam cover plate, maybe it brok in the past and they did not clear it out.

make sure you change oil filter too just in case you forget lol

Second. Could be baffle or cam cover plate.

Drain oil, take sump off, clean the oil pick up, new sump gasket and sump back on, clean any bits up top, new cam cover gasket and change the oil filter and stick some new oil in there.
