The material on the centre console looks spot on mate, where did you source that from?
Mirror looks good, do these have the auto dimming function like some of the mk4 and later Golfs?

Matt sourced the material and can't believe how good the match is.

TT mirror is just for a more modern look, no fancy auto dimm sadly

Took a little drive today to pick these up..

Projektzwo electric mirrors. Good price aswell. :)

Also made a major decision today and after speaking to my mate who's going to help with nearly all of the car and will be painting it I have him on board to.

Plan? Well it won't be at UD 2013!!!

Why? Simple really. Not enough time to do what I would like to. I also know that I will wish I had done it differently so instead of thinking like that later I'm just going to go all out and do it now. Full bare shell respray inside, outside and underneath, chrome VR in smooth bay, retrim and all the rest of the bits I had planned. UD2014 will be the day she comes out. So this winter I'm going to play about with the daily. Full US spec and will get it sitting nice on my corvettes so will give me something cool still to use next show season and daily. Will keep you all posted and keep an eye out for my thread on the daily.

Cheers guys.

To many times have I wished I'd just done it right the 1st time. This time will be different. Just got to get started and choose a colour!

Daily is now the priority!

So with the decision made to go all out on the show car and bring it out complete and finished in 2014, I knew I needed something to occupy me next show season.

Intention was to make this into something pretty cool that could do the daily duties with ease but be at home on the show field.

I finished the interior and had the coils and wheels (corvette salad shooters) purchased. Wheels and car now for sale ;). Next step was body work but noticed a certain car up for sale. The work planned for the green mk3 would have cost a little bit more than the new 1 and ultimately wouldn't be as nice. So of I went down south to pick this up.

So with the money handed over to shakey and the car minus a few bits off I drove back up to Ipswich. Here's how she looks at the mo.

Comps are just wheels that shakey loaned me to get it home as all the wheels I had are 5x100 where as shakey had converted the mk3 to 4x100 to give a 15mm smaller track on the front for better fitment.

So the plans. Well I will raid the show car of a few bits that I know won't be needed in there namely the Momo steering wheel and some dash bits. (TT dash and flat bottomed steering wheels to go in there instead) also will be running the recaro interior and US rear console among a few other nice bits.

Exterior wise I may put some US bumpers on and will run my projektzwo mirrors until they are due to go on the show car. As for wheels I have these in the living room.

Classic RH zw1 17x8 splits. Will be running 30mm spacers all round for hopefully the correct fitment. RH wheels are all ET 60.

So will update on this thread for the new daily/show car. And once I'm happy with it ( not that I'm not allready) it will be time to crack on with the show car.

Thanks

Don't forget if your after some corvette wheels or a nice little mk3 gti check the for sale adds I have up ;)
