After reading through dougs (trix) intire build thread the other day and wanting to make sure my mk3 will last the test of time n look good I've decided to replace and powder coat as much as possible underneath the car. Wishbones, fuel tank straps, rear beam, hubs, brake discs and surrounds among other parts will be powder coated in Harley Davidson crackle like my wheels. Calipers will be striped and rebuilt and then powder coated red just like they did from the factory. New wheel bearings, discs, pads and wishbone poly bushes will go in place. Car will be completely undersealed aswell. The underneath will be perfect and will last for years. Just what's needed for a future daily!!!

More soon

I intend to do all this as well, definitely the way forward in my eyes! Not in crackle black for me though, just a mixture of chrome powder coat and satin black :) glad to see more on this, I was missing the updates!

Cheers dan

After the job I had done with chrome powdercoat on the BBS RS wheels that sit on my mk2 I did think about doing it again but quite simply this car will be a daily therefore at some point be absolutely filthy so don't really see the point of having shiney parts underneath that I won't get to clean. Lazy!!! Lol. Engine bay however I will be doing that ;)

Cheers guys

I'm desperate for that pic aswell but because it's so low and with the air not plummed in we can't put it on the ground, otherwise we wouldn't be able to get it back up

It's a long wait but will be worth it.
