So the next installment is here

Spoke to Matt today and arranged to go up to his shop to Tuesday to discuss the next steps that will need to be taken to get it sitting right.

Looks like I will be raising bits to go lower but more on that next week

Here's a couple of pics. Interior is in and boot is nearly done but the next plans may meen it has to come out again.

Before

After

So next week I will explain what's going to happen!

Guess you're talking about raising the front strut towers to lay frame?
Project longterm Airbanger.

Your good m8
Yeah prov guna do the front to get it to lay frame but looks like we are going to do the rears aswell by 10mm to get it sitting on the lip.
Was hoping we could mount the strut differently but that would have meant it would go to far and the rear quarters would have been under proper strain holding the car up on the wheels.

So me and the smurf took a trip to see Matt today and discuss the plans for my mk3.

Now i will admit my sensible daily/show car has taken a bit of a extreme turn as the plans that were discussed are now going into full effect.

When it was booked in we new the look we wanted to achieve. With the car aired out it was clear to get it to lay frame and sit on the lip of the rear wheel we where going to have to raise the turrets. 25mm at the front and 10mm at the rear. We will also flip the track rod end and extend the ball joints. Pretty major step but seeing that's it's there and the install is out etc it makes sense to do it now rather than l8r.

Once finished there won't be any other way it will go lower lol

So I've had a chassis notch, full e level management and air lift struts fitted, polished the tank, had a boot build and now will be raising the turrets and flipping/extending the front arms etc. a lot More than I planned but the results will be epic.

Anyway grabbed some pics aswell so here they are

So with plenty more lows and work to come keep yours eyes peeled for the next installment

That looks insane, will it still be 'drivable' at full drop?

Na not at full drop as it will literally be touching the rear lip and the subframe will be laying on the floor!!!

I've got 3 preset settings on the controller so plan to make 1 of them a setting so it will drive just above full drop when cruising into a show. The other 2 will be for full drop and normal drive height. I can then raise it all individually for speed bumps etc.

Will it still be legal after this, where do you stand with the DVLA and major changes to the shell.

To be honest I'm not quite sure but when u see the amount of work done on cars nowadays I can't see it being a problem.

It will be done properly n be stronger than before. We will cut the tops off another car with the extra height needed and then weld it to my car. We will then weld a brace all round the inside of the join and weld that either side. Will be strong as a ox!!!
