mine sounds like a diesel sometimes so i must have the GTD file on my car.

Not the GTD file mate.  The GTD sounds sweet .... A real growl when floor it...

The ED35 has it too and may be the R but not sure about that. The Polo 6R GTI has it and the ED35 at low revs sounds the same. I have had both ED30 and MK6 GTI and they both sound different to the ED35.

Sorry no pics from an ED35 that I could find online and I don't want to take mine apart. Loads of stuff on TinterWeb, but I guess you have already looked.
