You need the entire CL trim as it is smaller then the GTi one.

What holes are you on about? there should only be the one under the arches where the rivets pop into, they can be left.

The others will be where the CL trim pops into the sides..

Unless you have lots of rust!

non plastic arched VR trim is the same width (although with vw they make the stuff from lots of differnet materials for each model, so i can't 100% say it will match)

check on ecp or similar (they used to list all/lots of the differnt options)

there will be holes in the arches where the rivets will have held the wheel arch covers though. They should be treated and filled or at the least treated otherwise i'd have thought they would be just waiting to add more rust.

And the boarding thing...surely that applies still mk3=boat?? non?

Anways good look with what looks to be the start of a project

major fed up now!

have spent the last 2 hrs running around trying to get the bolts for these stupid things( didnt realise i had to get them at the same time!... cant get them,, every scrappy i talked to said' it cant be done you have to drill this and that'.. so i get the laptop out of the car and showed them,,, then they tell me my bonnet wont lift high enough'.. i showed them exactly where the struts were to be bolted.. and it would open fine.. but no, what the hell do i know.. now on an effing mission to find a set f bolys or another set off another car

what a waste of a day !!!

on the upside.. i went into a random workshop that i saw a load of VW's outside of.. and was talking to the fella.. who i then realised was my brother!! havent seen him for 22 yrs...good taste obviously runs in the family though as he has a couple of mk4's and 2 transporters
