Radio issue been ongoing for months

I ran a live straight from the battery, it worked but you had to remember to turn it off! After a couple of months the ingnition switch failed anyway, so i would just replace that, save you in the long run!

Ohh sounds promising, which wires though do you know the colours? are they the ones directly connected to the head unit.

my second post was relating to sheilaghs problem however i will pop out to car in a moment an look for you cant rremember of the top of my head

Okay cheers, so far ive swapped the red and yellow around but to no affect, problem persists. If im still doing the right thing ill try to make it permanetly live. Is this easy to do? Sorry Im such a noob at these things.

Personally i dont believe making any radio or electrical equipment permanantlyuy live is a good idea, will result in flat battery's

Just in case really, how would I do it? I've got a good memory and had a constantly live unit in my own car. These silent journeys must stop lol.

had more flats than i care to remember due to that live! i have a terrible memory though so was a non starter :lol: ( haha excuse the pun)

@ Just an 8v,change your ignition switch they are £5 and easy to swap out this will fix your issue,no need to bodge the live feed

Another option is to keep the permanent live from the loom. Then for an ignition live tap into something on the dash like the rear heated screen for example for an ignition live source. Then take this feed straight to the stereo loom and there is a radio that works off the ignition as normal and is still covered by a fuse in the fuse box
