TV wall mountings
« on: 03 April 2012, 21:00 »
I've wanted to do this for ages now, but the mounts I wanted were silly expensive because of the type I wanted to keep the TV mounted in the corner and not flush with either wall.

Enter the Habitat mount I just found on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Designer-Habitat-Cantilever-Extension-Spacings/dp/B00452DPJW/ref=pd_bxgy_ce_text_b

Seems like what I want, triple swivel points, upto 37", "slim" solid design and well made.

Anyone know anything bad about this particular mount? It's a blindingly good price!

My only concern is that in the reviews someone with a 36" telly had it drooping and they've not specified which telly it is! Mine is an LG LED 37" that weighs in at 11Kgs without the stand, so compared to the max 25Kgs, I think it's reasonable to assume it won't droop? :undecided:

I 'think' that's the wall mounting we have for our spare bedroom

It seems very well made but its only holding up a 19inch LCD TV so i can't comment on if it will hold anything more  :undecided:

I know it's a 19", but what's the weight on it?

Hmmm, f#ck it. If it droops and I can't bodge it easily I'm sure I can send it back as unfit for purpose.

No, it was the ball and socket joint that tilted the TV from the weight not the persons mounting skillz. I could bodge it with a bit of ingenuity and my Macgyver skillz  Though I'd still complain to Habitw@t.

It arrived Saturday while we were out and today was the first day I had to put it up.

Very pleased with it, the wall bracket bit has a spirit level to help keep it straight when you're mouting it. My only gripes were that it was sent in the box itself and thus the box was damaged and no other packaging to protect it in transit - good thing it's solid metal eh? and the other gripe is that the delivery company left it under our door mat - thank f#ck it's pretty secure round here.

Need to plan how we're going to hide the cabling and sockets, in a discrete manner, then we can get rid of the glass unit and also get a radiator cover.

If anyone needs a wall mount for their <37inch TV, I suggest one of these - For £10 they are superb.

Cables tidied up a bit, and it does tilt a little but so slightly it doesn't matter.
