No, but the panic buyers will fill up at half a tank on Monday and so on until the strike blows over.
Petrol sales will be up for the month, sales going up means more money and profit.......
The reason the stations are empty is cos they sold all the fuel, my local has been emptied twice in two days.
At 1.46 a litre that's serious money changing hands

That logic only means if they use more fuel?
The petrol companies would loose potential revenues i.e rise in prices or taxes on fuel that could have been consumed at a later date when prices actually increased?
Short term money increases but are they doing more miles to use that fuel? Like you said half tank, qtr tank, eventually its a full tank?

My local has sold more fuel in the last 3 days than the previous days in the month, and is now being filled up by dhl tankers....

yeah but people are still going to use the same amount of fuel, they will be making more profit now, but when everyone has there baths, sinks and every other container in there house full they arent going to pop out to the petrol station there going to use the stuff they have at home, meaning the petrol stations wownt make as much then, therefore there going to be making the same amount of money, the only way there going to make more profit now is if they rais there prices, which they havent around my end i dont know about youse.

2p up since monday.........
They may go a week or two on the bottom of wave but it will settle down with a net profit.
Some of the guys at work moonlight in the BP stations near me and they are laughing over this.
I also know people who have tanked there second and third cars just in case....

The government won't make any more profit in the long run, only the petrol stations that have hiked their prices will and then it's only off the fools brimming their tanks now.

W/E happens I don't care, I can work from home so won't loose out and it's actually a blessing working at home   

EDIT: My wife the "Wallingford ESSO Petrol & Diesel price spotter" said  the diesel price has gone down from 147.9 to 146.9 so there ya go, the local Scott who runs the station isn't ripping us off

The last quarter of last year was in contraction on .3% and its almost definate that the first quarter of this year will be similar meaning we are officially back into a recession.
